As you may know, the Senate is considering changes to Medicaid that will devastate the health and economic security of many women of color struggling to make ends meet. These changes are predicated on false caricatures of women of color similar to those used to advance welfare reform proposals in the 1990s. It’s time to urge senators to stand up against such destructive false narratives.

This letter was drafted by In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, the National Women’s Law Center, and the Black Women’s Health Imperative urging senators to take a stand and oppose such harmful changes to Medicaid.
